Why bother with permaculture?

​

                    Quite simply, for a permanent human culture; for a society that                      thrives; for a civilisation that endures. Its been famously said                          that a nation can only live as long as its topsoil yet we as a                              planet, and we in South Africa especially, are losing topsoil at     an alarming rate. How long can we hope to live on this planet then? Permaculture is a complete system that can bring our agricultural, industrial and economic processes in line with natural systems that have survived the test of time and evolved to produce abundance. We must employ permaculture if humanity intends to survive this test also. We face the greatest challenges a conscious species on this planet has ever faced and we can choose to wait for them to overwhelm us or we can dig into our toolkit to solve our problems now.
